I think of Shakespeare before Harry Potter, but I do think a lot of people will think of Harry Potter - it was the first time many young readers had heard of the name.

I don't think that it's going to rise in popularity to any extreme. Those books became popular years ago, and Hermione is still rare on a real-life person. If you like it, use it.
