[Opinions] Daphne
What are your thoughts on Daphne?Does it seem too grown up? Dated? Or is it fresh again?I've always loved the name, it seems a little fairytale esque to me. I was almost named Daphne. Now that I'm looking for pen names I'm considering it, but I write for young adults and I want my pen name to seem young and kind of magical :) but also easy to spell and pronounce.

I honestly don't care for it. Plus it makes me think of Scooby-Doo.

I adore Daphne, though Penelope has recently knocked her out of my top 5! I think it's a doll of a name, and I'd love to see a little Daphne running around.

I really like Daphne so much better than other Greek names which are currently popular (Zoe, Chloe and even Phoebe). As a plus, I've only known one, a co-worker. We all called her Daffy. Why she allowed that silly nn, I'll never know. Daphne is infinitely better than Daffy.I don't find it dated at all but quite fresh (along with Penelope).

I absolutely love it! I really don't see how it sounds dated; I think it sounds very Greek (and with good reason), strong but not too strong. As for using as a pen name, I'd say it fits the criteria perfectly. ^^

I think it's fresh and it would make a good pen name, IMO.

I'd say it's fresh again. But i'm not very fond it anyhow. For young and magical I'd try something Irish or Welsh. Finding something easy to spell and pronouce is another story though. lol.

I'd love to find something Irish or Welsh (thats my heritage). But they definately aren't easy to spell for the most part!

I think Daphne is fine. Makes me think of Daphne du Maurier. What do you think of Kensa? It's not Welsh but "at least" Cornish...
