[Opinions] Re: Some spelling/pronunciation questions...
in reply to a message by Lily8
+ If you heard the name KAY-lee, how would you spell it?
Kaylee, although I do know a Kailee and a Kaylie. What is your preferred spelling of KAY-lee (list up to three different spellings if you want to, in order).
I like Kaylee the best. Kaylie is close but it looks too much like Kylie in my opinion.+ If you heard the name KATE-lyn, how would you spell it?
Kaitlin would be my first guess, then Kaitlyn. Caitlyn, Katelyn, Caitlin, Catelyn, etc. are all kind of the same for likelihood of being the spelling of someone named KATE-lyn. It's mostly random guessing...What is your preferred spelling of KATE-lyn (again up to three spellings if you want to).
Caitlin is my favorite.+ If you heard the name HAY-lee how would you spell it?
Hailey. I also know people named Haley and Haelle, but Hailey is how I'd spell it instinctively. What is your preferred spelling of HAY-lee (up to three).
Hailey.+ If you heard the name KAY-lyn how would you spell it?
I know so many of these and they all spell it differently! My first guess would be Kaylin, then Kailin, Cailin, Cailyn, Caylin, Kailyn, etc. What is your preferred spelling of KAY-lyn (up to three).
Probably Kaylin, maybe Kaylin, Caylin possibly..HALEY - HAY-lee or HAL-lee?
I'd say HAL-lee, but it's usually HAY-lee in my experience.KALEY - KAY-lee or KAL-lee?
Same as Haley- I'd say KAL-lee but it's likely to be KAY-lee.KATLYN, KATLYNN - KATE-lyn or KAT-lyn?
KAT-lyn, but probably gets said as KATE-lynHow do you pronounce CATELINE?
I would say KAT-e-leen, KAT-e-leine, or kat-e-LEENHow do you pronounce Caitlin? What about Caitlín?
Probably KATE-lyn.. My instinct is to say kayt-LEEN for the second one but I don't really know.Do you think it's wrong to pronounce Caitlin as KATE-lyn? What about Caitlín?
Not sure...What do you think of Cateline?
Like it. Far less boring than KATE-lyn.What do you think of HAY-lee, KATE-lyn, KAY-lee and KAY-lyn? Do you see them as trashy, trendy, cute, strong what is your first impression?
I see tham as popular and a bit boring, but I don't mind them. How many people do you know with the names I listed above? How do you see them spelled most often?I know 5 HAY-lee's Haley, Haley, Hailey, Hailey, and Haelle), Too many KATE-lyns to count (Kaitlin, Kaitlyn, Caitlyn, Katelyn, Catelyn), 2 KAY-lees (Kaylee, Kailee), and 3 KAY-lyns (Kaylin, Cailin, and one I don't know the spelling of.)
