I know a high school boy with this name, so the weirdness is gone. I used to think of the gun, but now it doesn't bother me as much. i would definitely consider it masculine, though.

All I think of is the gun maker, a very violent image- not one suited for a child, female or male.
Remy would be a cute nn, and is the only redeeming point of the name as far as I can tell, but surely there's a better full name that could achieve the same nn.

Why!? It's like naming one's daughter something like Rambo, Rex or Earl. Not an iota of femininity there.

...Steele.That's the first thing that popped into my head.I think it's horribly ugly for a girl, and pretentious for a boy.

I don't like it for a boy, much less a girl.

I really dislike it. It does not sound feminine at all and makes me think of guns.

Remington is a huge gp of mine but for a boy and a boy only. It's not a feminine name at all in my opinion.
I love Rémy as a nickname for Remington.

I'm a Remington Steele fan, so this would be my first association. I would never use it, especially not on a girl, sorry.

It's not my style, but it's not bad. It's kind of interesting, actually. I can imagine this on a girl, one who's slightly shy and petite yet rather feisty at times.

Albsolutely awful. It makes me think of hair straighteners. If it were to be used as a name at all, it would be better on a boy as it sounds very masculine, but I still wouldn't like it even then.S xx

as in Steele? That was my first thought and it's not an attractive name in my opinion

It's terrible on anything but my beloved Remington hair straightener. :P Especially a girl. It's not remotely feminine (but I guess that's what makes it SPUNKY!!!!!111!!) and just very, very ugly.

terribleIt's the name of a type of gun, of an electrics appliance brand and isn't remotely feminine on the top of that. I really don't see the appeal of this name, esp. for a girl.
