What do you think of Shanti? How do you pronounce it? It seems to be quite common in India and I love its meaning as well as its sound.

It's a beautiful name with a lovely meaning. I prn it SHAHN-tee.

It's a nice name but it's not my style at all. I'm not sure I like the sound of it. I know of a male Shanti though it seems to be a strictly female name (at least in India). I pronounce it Shan-tee.

I can't say I particularly like it. It makes me think of shanty, shanty choirs, old guys sining shanties, etc ;-)
On the other hand, I don't mind it. Oh, and I'm probably pronouncing it the wrong way...

I watched a documentary about children in India a while back and there was a little girl named Shanti. She pronounced it SHAHN-tee (well almost SHUN-tee).

I like it. I say it SHAN-tee. I prefer Santi though.
