[Opinions] Re: Ixchel

Interesting. I would have thought it was a boy's name. But now that I know I'm really getting into it for a girl. Love the snake imagery.
I'm glad you gave us a pronunciation guide. But I'm still a little nervous and would love to hear from someone who really knows how it's supposed to be pronounced. I know that Uxia is "oo-SHEE-uh," but that's Basque. Native Central American names tend to keep the "ks / x" sound, don't they? I had a client whose last name was Ixtacui (sp?), pronounced "IKS-tah-kwee." (Great surname, huh?) But in the absense of anything certain, I'll go with your way for Ixchel. It certainly is a lovely sound.
How about:
Ixchel Arianna
Ixchel Mireya / Mireia
Ixchel Natalia
Ixchel Victoria
Ixchel Monserrat (not for the feint of heart, I admit)
Ixchel Dolores
Ixchel Tatiana
Ixchel Daphne
Ixchel Martine
Ixchel Dominique
Ixchel Mariana
Ixchel Noemi
Ixchel Raphaela / Rafaela (too much "el" sound, perhaps?)
Ixchel Cassandra
Ixchel Benvenida
You like?
