Noelle and Josephine are twin newborn girls from France. Their mother had complications during their birth and is left very weak and unable to care for them. She decided it might be best to give her children to those who can care for them better, but her husband left a message saying that it might help her health improve if she can hear how her daughters are doing from time to time.
Valentin is a five-year-old boy from Russia. He comes from a neglecting family, his mother getting drunk often and his father mostly out of the picture. When he is given for adoption, he barely knows what it means, but sees it as a brighter life. Valya likes sports and is known to be of a rather imaginative nature.
Alexei is Valya's one-year-old brother. He is taken for adoption alongside his brother, who had promised to care for him. Alexei has no interests yet, besides playing for a long time in the bath and babbling syllables.
Idan is a four-year-old boy from Israel. After his father died in the war, his mother found it increasingly difficult to care for him. But when she died of an untreated case of tuberculosis, Idan was sent for adoption. He likes to listen to stories and is very good with his logic.
