If you don't have a lot of contact with babies then it's not surprising for it to be common without you knowing many.
My best friend's name is Grace. (And my name is Emma, and we didn't know anyone else with our names growing up -- !) I think it's adorable and I'm glad it's common - it's very pretty and delicate. Gracie is very cute as a nickname but rather foolish as a full name IMO. I like it a lot better as a FN than MN and I don't find super common middle names boring as FNs generally.
