Dolores Ana is a ten-year-old girl from Spain. She used to live with her mother and brother, but when her mother suddenly decided to up and leave them, she had to be given for adoption. Lola is quite protective of her brother, and likes reading, playing with younger children, and plants.
Mateo is Lola's seven-year-old brother. He, like her, likes to read. Unlike his calmer sister, though, Mateo likes to play football (soccer), and also animals. He has a pet puppy spaniel named Milagro.
Lloyd Aidan is a one-year-old boy from America. Born out of wedlock, his mother was constantly maltreated by her boyfriend until she was paralysed and unable to care for him. He has no interests yet, besides babbling and crawling everywhere.
Eugenie Henriette is a five-year-old girl from France. Her parents died in an accident and she was left to be taken for adoption, since no-one in her family wants her. She likes to play with dolls, plants, and sweets.
