[Opinions] Gloriana
What do you think of using Gloriana as a middle name in honor of Elizabeth I?

Gloriana is also the name of a new country band. I think it's fine.

I think Oriana would be more effective and more awesome.
eta: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Triumphs_of_OrianaGloriana's cool, though. I like all the Glory- names; glory is such a rich and evocative word. The GL is so awkward and inglorious. Awesome.

I think its a cool choice, I have always liked this name, every since I read the Mouse that Roared.

Hmmm...I much prefer Gloria. Gloria is sweeter than Gloriana, which sounds overblown. "Too much name", as they say.

But....Gloriana would be honoring Elizabeth I, whereas Gloria would not. As someone pointed out, Elizabeth itself would be passed over in favor of Gloriana, because Elizabeth is so common that its honoring purpose would not be as readily apparent as Gloriana's would.

I just thought Gloria, being a shortened version of Gloriana, would also work. Guess not. :)

I freakin' love this name so much. I wish DH did to. Elizabeth Gloriana is gorgeous.

I would rather see Elizabeth itself used, though I can understand how easily it could get lost in the middle name spot and not really fulfill its intended honoring position. Gloriana is a bit over the top for me, though it would depend on the combo. I think it could work.

I agree!;~)

I think that would be quite nice. I like these old-fashioned names such as Georgiana, Thomasina, Philomena & Josephina
