I like it, but prefer it as a nickname (as in the case of actress Nia Vardalos, whose full name is AntoniaEugenia). In Ireland I'd go with Niamh, but in the US Nia seems simpler spelling/pronunciation wise.
I dunno. I like the "ee-a" sound, but it makes me think too much of The Knights Who Say Ni. I actually think I prefer Niamh... which I don't like a whole lot. I like the way it looks, but it sounds too pointy.
My parents' next-door neighbour is called Nia. I've never thought of the Knights in connection with her name, but now I'm totally going to every time I see her - thanks! :)I like it, and prefer it to Niamh. It's shorter, and the spelling's much less confusing.
I like it. I know two girls named Nia, both pronounce it NEE-ah. I also like Niamh but there would be spelling/pronunciation problems so I'd go with Nia.
I once knew a girl from Georgia (the country, not the US state) named Nia (pronounced NEE-a). I like Niamh much better, though - it's a really beautiful name.
