[Opinions] Frederick
When I was working at the archives of the Masons this summer, this was a name that I came across so often it was almost ridiculous. It, along with 13 other names in particular, were definitely the "top names" of the men born between 1880 and 1930 in my area. At the time, seeing it so often made me immune to its charms, but now that some time has passed, I'm reminded of how much I enjoyed it. It was certainly my favourite out of the "Fabulous 14" top names I noted.
What do you think of Frederick (or Fredrick, if you prefer)?

I love it! This name has been on my mind for the past 24 hours. I'd really like to meet a young Frederick.
I love Frederick. It's in my top five for boys. It's handsome, but not stuffy.
I also like Fred and Teddy as occasional nicknames for it.
I dislike the spelling Fredrick.
(My favorite combos with it as a first name are Frederick Arthur, Frederick Miles, and Frederick Walter.)

You know, I used to hate this name. I thought it sounded ridiculous and stupid and then all of a sudden I started finding it cropping up all around the place and found myself saying it in full to myself. Now I really like it. My main issue with it is that Fred or Freddie seem kind of inevitable and I still hate them. I think they sound dopey and are far more suited to a droopy looking dog.
Frederick is very handsome and strong and I like how it looks on paper.
