[Opinions] Romy

I think it's a cute nickname. I wonder if it could be used as a nn for Montgomery - too far-fetched?
I really don't like it, and I'm using Rosemary. It's the nickname I really don't like.
I love it. Rome is currently my #5 girls name but I also love Romy. In fact if I named a daughter of mine Rome, her NN would be Romie. =)
I don't mind it, though I'd never actually use it. Funnily enough, I just heard this name on the tv before and made me think I hadn't heard the name in ages.
Tacky!
One of my least favorites.

My sister goes to school with a girl named Romy, her name is actually short for Romany-Blue.
Ditto this.
It's cute...but very nickname-y.
It's cute, but very much only a nickname for Rosemary. So as a full name, no. But as a nickname is cute and pretty. ^_^
OT
It's a drama about the life tragedy of Romy Schneider. I kinda liked it. You get to see everything: her fame with the Sissi-trilogy, her frustration about not getting any other parts than "innocent princesses" in Germany which made her leave for France where she got the parts she professionally deserved, her fights with her mother, how people wanted to take advantage of her fame and the money she made, her affairs/marriages and her longing for love, her loneliness and finally her breakdown after the sudden death of her son David which she never managed to recover from.

Ack! Spoiler alert!
Thanks, but I'd kind of like to see it for myself. Is it in English? Did you see it on TV / cable, or rent it on DVD? What is the name of the actress that plays Romy, so maybe I can find it for myself. Things like that. Thanks.

Oh, I'm sorry. You didn't specify what kind of information you'd like to have and I thought that the story was kinda given anyway since it is just what happened in her life and most people know that over here...
It's a totally new German made for TV film, so it's not in English and you might have trouble getting it in the US. Romy is portrayed by Jessica Schwarz.

Shucks. It looks like I'll have to wait for a subtitled version. But thanks for the info all the same!
