[Opinions] Madian...WDYT?
I saw this name yesterday and I think I like it. Three questions for you: WDYT? and How would you pronounce it? Boy or Girl?
Thanks

I would pronounce it MAH-dyin or MAH-dyan (AH as in apple, in and an like the words). I am not one for new names, but I think that the sound of this one is rather nice (I prefer MAH-dyan). I think that it could be a boy's or a girl's name.
1) It's a little weird imo, besides sounding a bit like the word "median".
2) MAY-dee-uhn
3) Tough question. It's almost a bit genderless. I mean, it could go either way.

It looks like a typo of "maiden" so I would say female, though I don't really like it much. LIke they said, too, I would prn "mad-EE-an."

I personally don't think much of Madian- it sounds like a cross between 'mate' and 'median', so not very nice sounding. I'd pronounce it something like Made-ee-an, and it seems more like a girls name than a name for a boy.

I don't really like it very well, I'm afraid--it looks as though someone really wanted to use Madison but wanted something "more unique." It looks enough like Madison that careless people would probably say that name instead of Madian on first glance.
I'd say MAD-ee-en if I saw it, and I'd assume it was a girl.

You know, I hadn't thought of the Madison connection. You do have a point.
