[Opinions] Abbey.
I loved the name 'Abbey' when I was younger. All my dolls were named Abbey or Abigail. After hearing it again today, I've fallen in love again.
What are your opinions on Abbey?
Do you think it can stand as a name alone or is it better as a nickname for Abigail?
Which spelling do you prefer?
Do you know any Abbey's? (Any spellings) What are their middle names, ages?

My cousin's name is Abbey Lynn (she's almost 21). It's not short for Abigail, which I like because Abigail does not fit her at all. She has a very strong, spunky personality and Abbey seems perfect for her. Abby is probably the only other spelling I like, I don't care for Abbie. And yes, I think Abbey can stand on it's on. Growing up with my cousin, it feels like an entirely different name compared to Abigail and this is coming from someone who rarely likes nicknames as full names! :)
I don't mind the name at all, but really dislike the spelling Abbey. I think Abby looks the nicest. I like it as a full name and definitely think it can stand alone, even though it's nice as a nn for Abigail too. If I was going to use Abigail, then I'd use Abi as the nn.
I've always thought it was adorable and upbeat. I think it must be a nn though... can't stand on its own. My favorite spelling is Abbie, but I also like the look of Abbey, even though it's a word. Abby is okay too, but I don't like Abbi or Abbe, which I've also seen.
I know several Abigails of various ages, but I don't know anyone named only Abbie.

I heartily dislike both Abigail and Abby. Or Abbey.
I once mentioned on this board that I couldn't understand why Abigail is so popular, as I think it very ugly. Someone responded that she thought that Abigail was popular due to the nickname Abby. This didn't go very far in explaining it to me, since I consider Abby just as ugly as Abigail.
So I guess I've made it clear that I don't like Abigail or Abby or Abbey. I would still prefer to see Abby or Abbey as a nickname for Abigail than on its own. I do prefer the Abbey spelling, the E makes it look a little softer.

This is my name, except its spelt Abbie! And it is my full name. Not being biased but I prefer the spelling Abbie or Abby and really dislike Abbi / Abi but Abbey is okay. My middle name is Lauren. I'm glad this is my full name and not Abigail as I hate that but most people think that is my name so I don't know...
I like it though, it gets quite a lot of compliments.
I know of a couple of Abi's (roughly 16ish) but not many and they're always short for Abigail. Still haven't met anyone with it as a full name.

I think it's better as a nickname for Abigail, but it could work as a name on its own. I love it anyway.
I prefer Abbey (this spelling) as a whole name, because I dislike Abigail. I know a:
Abbey Maura (13 years old- sister Lyndsay Alexa)
Abigail Rose "Abby" (17 years)
Abigail "Abi" (10 years- not sure of mn. Sister Emma.)
