[Facts] Top 100 2009 in Sweden released
The list of the 100 most popular names in Sweden 2009 was released yesterday.
Here's a link to the article in English http://www.scb.se/Pages/PressRelease____285779.aspx
You will also find a link to all tables on names for 2009 and trends since 1998 there (also in English)
And a question for Mike C if he happens to read this: When will the top lists be updated? I noticed that the latest top list for Sweden is for 2007.

William pronunciationThanks for posting!Do you know how William is pronunced in Sweden?

Most people pronounce it like it would be pronounced in English. However, there are some (mostly older people) who pronounce Will like Vill. That's why you might see spellings like Villiam and Viljam though William is the "correct" Swedish spelling.

Thank you! I am also surprised how popular Alice and Ella are. But my last list of popular names in Sweden is from 2002...
