Isn'it the British spelling of "evangelize"? Not good for a person's name, I'd assume the parents were Bible-thumpers.

Honestly, it just looks like an alternative way of spelling evangelize. I far prefer Evangeline, and I don't like it at all! (My mother had an Evangeline friend who was known as Vangie.)

I like Elisa but not Evangeline or Evangelise.
