It's not bad, but the fact that it's the same as the word 'gene' really bugs me (makes me think of all the things that could go wrong with genes). Aside from that, though, it is quite nice.

I like the name a lot, but that's because I'm a big fan of actor/dancer Gene Kelly. I can't use the name though, as it pretty much rhymes with our surname! Gene Lawrence is a handsome combo.

I don't like it, I find it very dated and quite boring, especially when paired with other similarly old fashioned names like Harold and Lawrence. Sorry if this is the style of name you like, it just isn't mine.

I love Gene. I always think of Gene Kelly.
