Julian Edgar would be fantabulous. Truly stellar combination.
I have the same feeling about Julian as you do.
To cure your father, why not show him some of the horrendous BA announcements? Once he sees how far away from his James / Matthew ideal names are now, Julian will seem wonderful to him. Not that I don't think James and Matthew are great names, they are. But he probably hasn't any clue about what is really unusual. And Julian ain't it.
