Everybody's grown up in the past eight years. The eldest three Thompson kids are out of the house now. On his 18th birthday, Matt enlisted in the US Air Force. He has been a pilot for two years now, and loves his job.
He is engaged to be married to his girlfriend of three years, Rosemary Anastasia. Amber and Joey are both in college too. Amber wants to be a veterinarian, and Joey is hoping to become a surgeon. He still has a talent for music, but found that he really liked biology and anatomy classes in high school. Emma has no plans to go to school. Last year, she found out that she was pregnant. Her boyfriend dumped her and left Emma to deal with the situation. Three months ago, Emma gave birth to a healthy baby boy. She plans to raise him and is hoping to find a job somewhere. Alice, Sara, Elena, Jason, Alan, and Mary are all still in school. Alice gets some schoolwork done around her busy gymnastics schedule. She's hoping to go to the Olympics next year and has qualified for the US Junior team for the past two years. Sara took up gymnastics a few years ago. While she's nowhere near as talented as Alice, she still hopes to be a star. Elena matches Alice's gymnastic ability and she wants more than anything to win an Olympic medal. Jason is still a bit wild, but he's starting to channel his energy into snowboarding and ice hockey. Alan has a very scientific mind. He likes to read and he has an astonishing sense of humor. Mary is a bit of a drama queen. She likes to be the center of attention and has been a little jealous of her nephew Noah since he gets the majority of attention from the adults in her life.
