[Opinions] Arnaude
What do you think of this name? The masculine form Arnaud ("arno") is common in France and I never really cared for it, but Arnaude is much more rarely seen. In fact, I don't think I had ever encountered it before seeing it a few days ago on a paper at university.
I found it very unpleasant and devoid of elegance at first but I think it is slowly growing on me. I love Maud, I like Claude and I have nothing against the "arn" at the beginning, so after all, why did it strike me as being so ugly? Maybe because the feminization of this name seemed unnatural to me, but it isn't really a problem usally...

I think it could grow on me too. It has a nice sound.
I love Arnaude I think it is very masculine it's a great name.
Arnaude is a female name :)
I don't particularly like it, but I don't find it ugly either. It reminds me of Renaude, which is quite pretty.
I think it's pretty cool, I dunno why you had such a strong reaction to it. I would suggest it was because of the "arn" but you said you had no problem with it. I don't find it devoid of elegance at all. Interesting.
I think it is prettier pronunced in English, where it sounds a bit softer and more refined. It is strange, I can't say it twice without having two very different feelings from it!
I like it! I think I like it more than Armande in terms of French ar- names. There is something very graceful about the "aude" portion of the name, very delicate and ballerina like.
I am like that with so many names. I'll see it and go "ugh, ugly!" but then because I am so offended by it I keep thinking about it, and slowly the hate turns to admiration. I often end up liking those names more deeply than others, because they have a wonderful complexity to them.

Yeah, that's how I feel. And sometimes these names end up being more appealing than perfect pretty names everyone always agrees on.
