Christie/Christy is a boy's name in Ireland. It used to be the nn for Christopher - nowadays it is usually just Chris though and Christy is for older men. It's pretty common though.
In fact the only female Christy I know is American (and she spells it with a K I think).
I think Christie would work for a boy(as a nn for Christopher maybe).
