I don't think it sounds primitive. It reminds me of Africa, and lately, I've been really loving African names. I've met girls named Sudi (soo-dee), Doubara (doo-BAH-rah), Yaol (like yowl), and Azieb. I think that Owa is very nice, though not something I would use.
