[Opinions] Nica
WDYTO Nica as a nn for Veronica?
Suppose someone named Veronica only went by Nica- do you like it less, more, or the same (as it is used as a full-time nn in this case)?
What sort of person do you think would be called Nica?
Have you met anyone named this before?

As a nn for Veronica I think it's cool
I like it a bit less but not much less it's still awsome
Nica sounds a bit unusual but people can't not like, a bit girly but not too girly and likes the colour purple (that was kinda random). Dark hair and blue eyes.
No I haven't met anyone called this.

I like it as a nickname for Veronica, but I don't think it makes a good stand-alone name. It does have a fun, spunky vibe to it, though.
I'd prefer Nickie, since Nica sounds like knicker which is inappropriate.
I wouldn't be impressed by Nica, though I'd sympathise with her need to have a shorter name than Veronica, which is a mouthful for everyday use.
I've only met one Veronica, and she didn't shorten it at all, though people tried to call her Vera and Ronnie.

I see how you might think it sounds like knicker, prn. NICK-uh, but I prn. it NEE-ca. How do you prn. it?
I pronounce Veronica to rhyme with knicker, so naturally I pronounce Nica in the same way! This is the only pronunciation I've ever heard of Veronica in English. What language are you using?

Well, I'd love it as a first name, but I don't like it as a nn for Veronica. I guess it's alright, but it looks more like a feminine version of Nico. If it's a full-time nn, why not just make it the full name?
Nica sounds like a nice, friendly sort of person (I don't get that impression from Veronica)
Never met any.

I like it. I met a Nika before. She's...different.
