The neighboring country of Alaia has invaded the southern borders of Fairlin, sending the citizens in that area into a panic. King Alexander sent troops to fight them, but he was worried, for very soon after the invasion began, his wife announced she was pregnant. He had hoped that the war would be over before she gave birth, but the months passed and Alaia refuses to leave. The twins were born in the midst of a fierce battle. Prince Benjamin and Princess Petra are both strong and healthy and beautiful, but their parents are worried about the effect the war is having on their children. They do not want their early childhoods marred by the anxiety and worry of the people around them.
