I like Eponine a lot, but Fantine sounds a bit like a soft drink (someone mentioned that in the comments section under Fantine and now I can't get that association out of my head). I do like Fan as a nn for Fantine, though.

Yeah, they're both usable, Eponine perhaps more than Fantine.
