In Australia not too long ago there was a trashy family on the television programme Neighbours with a daughter named Janae. I don't even watch the show but I still think of her when I hear it. Aside from that, the name is fine but not my style.

I really like it, very pretty!

I've never liked Janae. I know one who's a pathological liar, so it might be because of personal association.

I do love the somewhat similar Danaë. It's classic and unusual.

It's ok... Works well as a mn. Can go ok as a fn w/ some names. The fact it's not overused is a point in its favour. Maybe go through a list of combo possibilities and try it on both sides of a bunch of names and see how you like it either as fn or mn.
Just for fun, since a friend of ours is somewhat unsure whether she still likes Yuri as much as she originally did, we've taken to calling her Yuri to see how she likes hearing the name all the time... Then by the time she has a daughter (no immediate plans, but a some day in the future concept), she can have a better idea whether or not she wants to use it and live w/ hearing it all the time.

It's alright. I know one Janae. I like the way it looks more than the way it sounds.

Love it. I've thought of using it as a middle name. I think Janaya is great too.

There would probably be trouble with pronunciation. I prefer Jane.

I like it but not for like a first name but it is real suitable for a middle name though..
