Claidi and Argul had traveled back to the Hulta, who were thrilled to have Argul as there leader again. They apologized to Claidi for chasing her away before, when she actually was innocent. They got married (for the forth time) properly in Hulta style. Almost a year after that Claidi gave birth to a baby girl. The parents were at loss of what to name her, in the House (were Claidi was born) only royalty named babies, and Hulta tradition babies were named after others who where close to the family. Claidi absolutely refused of giving the girl anothers name- after all she had been given Winter's intended name (Cladis Star), and it had caused her bunches of trouble. Argul, seeing her point asked a compromise- Claidi could come up with her first name and then they would honor someone they loved. Ironel (Argul's grandma, resident semi evil, CURRENTLY not against them), wanted then to name the child a royal name (more speficly after her), but of course Claidi refused...
wait I just relized something, in the books its from Claidi's point of veiw in a journal she writes. To stick to the story I'll switch over to that but as lazy as I am, I'm not rewriting the top. Sorry.
How could I call my child after the horrible old women? She may be Argul's grandmother but I still don't forget what she does as the Wolf's Paw, what she tried to do with me. I think she's playing games with us.
After a long talk with Argul we came up with Roserna Dengwi. Roserna just seemed like her name and Dengwi was for my dear half sister, whom I've just sent her a flying letter (I still don't know how they work, I've even ask Ustareth but as much as I try I can't get anything out of her patient but strange explanations.) to brag upon Roserna's birth. Last I heard from Dengwi is that her and Venn were to be married at the Rise.
Thu's just started scratching on the wagons door so I have to let him in, the silly dog would start howling if I don't and I don't want him to wake the baby.
...
Mirreen and Sirree are still restless, them again so am I. Its taken me a while to calm down enough to write this even if its not the worst thing that ever happened.
After I let Thu in, I played with Roserna for a while. She's so cute! Even if Argul insists she looks exactly like me (she doesn't, I'm not that beautiful no matter what anybody says.)
Then the dogs started howling. The normally good tempered and sweet Hulta dogs. I grabbed Roserna and headed outside to find my husband, I needed to know what was up. The Wolf Tower, I thought foolishly. I'll never trust the City people.
I found him with Blurn but he had no idea what was wrong. The rest of the Hulta mostly came out, on guard.
"I bet its an ape." Dagger said to me in her assured way, then asked to hold my baby. By now the girl was ten, she had been seven on our first meeting, but now Dagger had a suspicious tendency of any strange occurrence.
I let her hold Roserna as I talked to Argul, but then I got the feeling we shouldn't make any noise- the dogs were now whimpering.
Then I caught a glimpse of a person. I pointed him out only for more to come and introduce themselves. Like the Hulta they wore mixed matched clothes but no clinking jewelry, nor bright colors. My instincts from the House screamed they were bandits but everything connected to the House was mostly wrong. Unfortunately this was the first time it was right.
The men started fighting ours against theres, none willing to give up. Then me, dumb Claidi got her self captured and taken for ransom. A chest of valubles just for me. I'd feel guilty but then I'd feel jealous they didn't pay more. As I've said before, I'm not a nice person to be around.
I'm just glad Dagger was taking care of Roserna. Otherwise, Dagger would have fought and probably got hurt, and Roserna would have been captured with me. I'd rather die than have her in danger. Atleast I knew the bandits couldn't hurt me, the power jewelry- or my power protected me from anyone meaning harm... except they didn't mean to hurt me, just gain money. If some hadn't cuffed me to a tree I would have flown away... So many ifs.
Now I'm scared. What if the bandits come again?
