[Facts] Re: Meaning of Ebele
in reply to a message by M. Bruining
Hi M,
Ebele is a Frisian pet form of Ebe, which is a Low German and Dutch short form of Old German names starting with Eber- (e.g. Eberhard, Eberwin etc.). - "Eber" means 'wild boar'. Ebe is also a short form of Edelbert, which is a newer form of the Old German name Adalbert, "adal" meaning 'noble', "bert" meaning 'bright, famous'.
Regards, Satu
