I really like it. I don't have too much more to say than that, except I really like this formula of names, Alva, Alma, Alba, etc

I really like Alva; it's reminiscent of Ava without being too popular. I also like the meaning.

There is just nothing I like about the name. It is very popular here, way too popular. And I find it ugly and childish. Sorry..

Not bad, a variation on the super-popular Ava. But Thomas Alva Edison makes it more a male name to me.
