I've seen it used in the form 'Reinette' here in South Africa by a girl of Afrikaans origins; however, we did have an influx of French Huguenots in the 17th century and their influence on Afrikaner naming habits has been powerful.
She pronounced it Ray-net, which is Afrikaans rather than French.
