It could work as a nickname for Lemuel, as others have said. I was just thinking of Lemuel, actually. I was reading about The Donner Party, and about how there was a twelve-year-old member of the party named Lemuel Murphy, and how he died. I was thinking of how sad it was that a twelve-year-old died as the result of taking a trip that I'm sure he had no say about.
I like the name Lemuel and I was thinking about posting about it, but wouldn't at all like Lemmy as a nickname. Lemmy just sounds kind of silly.

Funny you should mention the Donner Party: when my brother and SIL were asking for help naming their daughter, I mentioned Tamsen because I had heard it on a TV special about the Donner Party. They were not amused, but I just thought it was an interesting name. :)
Oh, Tamsen! What a great name! I noticed it too, and was thinking of posting about it.
I like it as a nickname for Lemuel.
Ace of Spades!
Like CN I thought of Lemmy Kilmister from Motörhead. Except I was more tickled and delighted. Lemmy is such a strange classic. :-D
Still, his is the face I see with this name. Not something you'd want to spread around, really. o_O

I also think of lemons and lemmings... What about Lemuel, nicknamed Lemmy?
I immediately think of Lemmy Kilmister, a singer in a band called Motörhead. He has warts on his cheek and I think he's kind of creepy. Bad associations in other words.

I think Lemmy could work on it's own, just like Remy, but I'm not sure I like the sound of it. I actually think I prefer it as a nickname though I can't really think of any name right now.

Alright. I'm new on here , and I don't really know what to do. But I guess I give my opinions on names and stuff.
So I like it maybe for a nickname or something , but not a real name.
I also think it would go good for a middle name.

I guess it could work as a nn for something, but I'd find it silly and inconsistent as a full name.
I loved it when I was in middle school, but I really dislike it now. It has this slimy texture to it that I don't like at all.
It sounds like a nickname for Lemon, sorry haha.
I'd rather see Lenny :) as a nn for Lennox or Lennon :)
