The names go together well. I don't really care for the way Alexene is spelled. Alexine is prettier, I think. Alexine, Joselle, and Elaina would have been really nice.
Using a less common first name with a common nickname seems fine to me, although I prefer unusual names with unusual nicknames. I guess having the option of going by a common nickname is good if someone with an unusual name would prefer to go by something more common. It kind of balances things out.
