[Opinions] Sibel
They always have this commercial on our PBS station for the pediatric practice of this married couple, and the wife's name is Sibel. They pronoucne it si-BEL. Kind of like Isabel, but take the "iz" off.
It's not in the database here, but someone submitted it and says that it is "Turkish name of Arabic origin, meaning "raindrop (between sky and earth)", "flowing"."
I'm rarely (or pretty much never) into names of that background, but I think Sibel has a really pretty sound. It feels sort of dark and alluring to me. What do you think of it?

I really like this name too. My fiance used to work with a girl named Sibel, she was from Turkey.
I like it. I love the meaning too.
It's really pretty. At first, I thought it was pronounced like Sybil, which I don't really care for, but I like the way Sibel's name is pronounced. I like the possible meaning too.
Sibel Redzep was in Swedish Idol in 2004 and is rather famous here. I haven't thought about the name that much, but I guess it is okey.

It sounds a bit like Sybill.
But yeah it's sounds really cool, I don't know why but it sounds kinda mystical.
Alot more interesting then Isabel

I think Sibel is beautiful! One of the Turkish characters in the German film Head On (Gegen die Wand) bears this name.
