Every time I mention it around here it doesn't get very good reviews.
I've liked it ever since I read a book called Marnie in middle school (unrelated to the Alfred Hitchcock movie). I always thought it sounded nicknamey, too. I think it's cute and charmingly old-fashioned, but it has something dark and mystical about it, too. Which is odd because Mar- names are always red for me.
