[Opinions] Vivian
I'm diggin' the slightly-vintage Vivan today. I see it's risen in popularity a bit - do you think Vivian will continue to rise, or fall? What do you think of Vivian? How would you combo it? I never cared much about it before - I always pictured it on dark-haired women (a la Vivien Leigh), but suddenly today I imagined it on a tall, cool blonde, and it seemed much more interesting.

I also like:
Vivian Augusta (great sound)
Vivian Aurelia (with a short e in the second syllable)
Vivian Doris
Vivian Dorothea
Vivian Elspeth
Vivian Georgina
Vivian Golda (this is cool)
Vivian Hester (gotta love Hester)
Vivian Jemima (They feel very different in style, but the combo works for me)
Vivian Josepha (I wouldn't have guessed BtN's pronunciation of this--I was thinking jo SEE fa or JO zeh fa--but they all sound pretty good)
Vivian Judith
Vivian Lenore
Vivian Loretta (These feel like they mesh very nicely in terms of style)
Vivian Lucille
Vivian Milagros (I think I might prefer Milagro, though. Great meaning here, too)
Vivian Paloma
Vivian Raymonde (Saw this for the first time yesterday... It's really appealing here.)
Vivian Rosemary
Vivian Susanna

As always, a stunning list. I just had to give you props for Vivian Griselda. If only I had the guts. . . .

I also see it as dark. Vivien Patricia, Vivienne Joy and Vivienne Ruth are three that I've known. I prefer Joy and Ruth as mns, but Vivien as a fn.Vivienne Julia; Vivienne Marjorie; Vivienne Clara.

Vivian Pearl is my favorite of your combos. I like the meaning of Vivian Eloise, but the names are too similar in rhythm.

AdelaisAdelais is terrific. I've never heard / seen it before. And you've solved one mystery for me. I've always wondered why Adelheidis isn't in the database. It's because I've misspelled it, of course. Adalheidis makes more sense anyway. And I'm so glad someone else likes Erzsebet. Love Vivian Erzsebet. Am I pronouncing it correctly, "EHR-sah-bet?" I've always been guessing. Vivian Larkspur is delightful.

I love the name, but for a girl I spell it Vivien. Vivian / Vivien sparkles. And I picture the same dark beauty that you do, Ms Leigh. She was born Vivian Mary, by the way. Very sweet, don't you think?Vivian Midori
Vivian Clare
Vivian Elena
Vivian Alice or Vivien Alix
Vivian Iris
Vivian Clio
Vivien Esme
Vivian Peronel / Petra (although Petra Vivien flows better)
Vivian Ailsa
Vivian Isobel / Ishbel
Vivian Isolde
Vivian Deirdre
Vivian Moira (again, Moira Vivian feels more natural)
Vivian Isla
Vivian Rosalie
Vivian Niobe ("NIE-uh-bee")
Vivian Dolores
Vivian Jacinta / Jacintha
Vivian Laurel

These please me:
Vivian Dolores
(Though I think I'd have a hard time using this due to meaning... Dolores needs a very specific sort of name to go with it; Joy Dolores (joy and sorrow), maybe Jaina Dolores (God's gift of sorrow, or God's sorrowful gift... Life of Sorrow isn't what I'd choose for my daughter)
Vivian Laurel
I like this best of your lot
Vivian Promise
Shiny. I think I'm a sucker for word names.
Vivian Pilar
I like Pilar.
Vivian Zoe
Neat :)

Vive le Vivian! [It's "le" nom so masculine form, I think, even though your Vivian would be a girl. If that's incorrect, someone please let me know. Thanks.]

Vivian is my little sister's name. And I don't see it rising or falling. There are hardly any. Her name is Vivian Abigail because Abigail was my great-grandmother's name. I like Vivian Alexis and Vivian Leigh.

I like Vivian because it's so snappy and purple. It's a bit dark and mystical, too. But I still have that initial reaction to avoid it because it used to be SO BtN-trendy. :P I think it will continue to rise in popularity. It has that sharp sound, has been used by celebrities, and I think Vs seem like the cool thing. My favorite combo with it is Tesni Vivian, which if you flip around still sounds nice.

What's wrong with dark-haired women? ;)I think it's pretty, but not stunning. It's ranking on a B- for me.

LOL oh nothing of course! It was just like I was in a Vivian rut because I built her this nice little dark-haired box to live in and so it was boring. But once she got out of the box, it became a whole new name!!I love dark hair. I wish I had it myself :(
