[Facts] How do Latvians pronounce Kristine??
Hello, I recently visited Latvia and met this wonderful girl named Kristine. I swear when we first told eachother our names, she said her name was Kristina! But then she wrote her name down as Kristine. This has me confused?? Do I pronounce it Kristina? Help!!

Cleveland is right; the same pattern occurs in Danish. My friend from Denmark is named Cecilie, but she pronounces it like Cecilia.

In most European languages besides English and French, final "e"'s in words are indeed pronounced. Actually Kristine would probably be "Kris-teen-eh" in most European languages.
