Sorry about your appendix-- hope you're feeling better! :)Eleanor is beautiful, timeless, and not too simple or too frilly. It's not a personal favorite of mine, but I see why lots of people adore it. The only strike against it is that it seems to be rising in popularity (I could see it really skyrocket in the next few years). Evadne, IMO, sounds like someone's trying too hard. I think it could come off as pretentious. It's not a bad name, and could definitely work on the right person. But for the most part, I'm not a fan and think Eleanor is miles better.

EvadneI think Evadne is beautiful and very interesting, a "less common" substitute for Evangeline.
And as a side note, I hope that you're feeling much better now!

Eleanor, though it pains me that I can't choose Elinor. I just think Elinor is the prettier spelling. This was *almost* my niece's name, but my sister-in-law vetoed it. She didn't like it at all.

EleanorEvadne smacks of "trying too hard." Eleanor is pretty, clean and honest; Evadne is just begging for someone to pay attention to it. Sorry to hear about your appendix, ouch! Glad to have you back. :-)

EleanorEvadne is nice, but not as nice as Eleanor.

Evadne, becausemy family pronounces Eleanor like "Elluh-ner", and I much prefer it said in nice warm rounded tones, like "ella-nor", but I know they would never say it correctly. Also Evadne is a bit more interesting for me.Hope you get well soon!!

Evadne. It's funkier & more unheard of.

Evadne. Eleanor is just slightly dowdy, Evadne not at all so.

I prefer Evadne. Eleanor is beautiful too, but I find Evadne more mysterious and interesting.Glad you're back and no longer in the hospital.

Evadne!I love Evadne! I think it's got more character than Eleanor. I've met lots of Eleanors, but never an Evadne.

Eleanor, tho I've always liked Eleanora (ella-NOOR-ah)Rock on, Eleanora! Billie Holiday was one of yours!

EleanorEleanor is one of the few names that is pretty close to perfect to me. It is beautiful, has history, is feminine but strong, has so many fabulous nickname options, and it is timeless. I love it.Evadne is pretty too but I feel that it is a little bit pretentious but could work well with the right parents and in the right sibset.
