Oh, I'd forgotten Arpad and Attila (which is odd to me because it makes me think of Attila the Hun), and I came across a Zsuzsanna as well. Kudos to you for studying Hungarian, it looks like a very tough language.

It is hard (which is why I only took it for a year), but very interesting:-) I might give it another try once I graduate.
Everyone has a bad image of Attila the Hun, but I guess if you're a descendant of Huns the name would have great meaning (as it does in Hungary and it's quite popular). It's the same with some Slavic names that have a 'bad rep' outside Slavic countries (like Igor, Ivan or Vladimir).

Hmm, I wouldn't say Igor, Ivan and Vladimir have the same reputation than Attila, because there some positive or neutral associations as well (eg Igor Stravinski). Attila's only Attila the Hun, and pretty much the villain of the fairy tale in Western history textbooks. I'm aware it does not have the same association everywhere, but I still find it funny when I encounter it (one of my relatives has a Hungarian SO named Attila).
