[Opinions] Gryffen
I'm really into hippie names; I'm having a little boy. My names list included:
Echo
Zhody (ZAH-dee)
Silver
Zephyr
Griffin
Percy
And out of this list, I picked Griffin. I was thinking the other day, and "Gryffen" came into my mind. I thought it was cute; I enjoy spelling it as well. So, how about "Gryffen?"

It's the best choice from your list, that's for sure. But there's no good reason for fiddling around with the spelling just because you think it's cute. How long does a boy stay cute - eight years maximum? And then he has to face a lifetime of spelling out his name ... you'll have to do the same, but he'll get more of the hassles. Rather go for the classic, hippy or not.
Silver is a GP of mine (I also like Teal/ Teale). I adore Griffin, but really don't like Gryffen. Why misspell a name on purpose?
Echo : Very pretty on a girl, and rather cool on a boy. I like it.
Zhody (ZAH-dee): I think this will be mispronounced as Zh-O-dy and looks a bit like a rehash of Cody.
Silver: I like it, but it feels more like a pet name to me.
Zephyr: I like it!
Griffin: It's a little bit hard for me to take seriously, but it's interesting. I dislike the spelling Gryffin; it makes it look like you're trying too hard to respell the word and turn it into a name. But I just hate ys randomly replacing is in words, so I am biased.
Percy: I like it, but it's a bit teasible. Popular media always slaps the name Percy on 'nerds' 'wimps' etc. so people's associations with the name can be bothersome. Still, Percy does need more love. :)
