[Opinions] Hosea
I've fallen for Hosea lately, but I can't get over the fact that it starts with 'Ho'.
Does this bother anyone else, or am I a weirdo?

For me...
It's the hose part that bothers me. Probably because you hear hose more often than ho in real life (at least I do).

I don't notice the "Ho-" part of it at all
LOL, yes, it is a big sea of hos.
Seriously: it's a bit biblical for me, but it's not a bad name, although, when said, it reminds me more of Jose than anything else - I keep wanting to pronounce it ho-ZAY-a.

There's a Josua and a Josue in the school I work at. Maybe you could use a j instead of h, then not see the ho at the begining.
The 'Ho' doesn't bother me so much as the 'Hose'. I think it's just an ugly name all around.
I agree completely. Hosanna is very pretty whereas I see "hose" when I look at Hosea. When we were kids, my uncles called us "hose heads" I have no idea what that meant but it just isn't something I associate with a good name. I don't hate it nor would I advise anyone against it per say... I just wouldn't use it personally.
Well,
I know a woman named Hosana. She goes by Hosi ("HOHZ-ee") and it never occurs to me that there's a "ho-" or a "hose" in there. Just my two cents.

Same here.
It's not the Ho-, it's the Hose.
I love the aesthetically-similar Hosanna, though. What a cool alternative to Susanna that would be.
