[Opinions] Oskar
What is your opinion of Oskar? I prefer the German spelling. Which spelling do you prefer?

I really like it, but it isn't one I would probably use. I like both spellings equally.

I adore Oscar/Oskar. I like both spellings but slightly prefer Oscar- I just generally prefer C's over K's.Spunky boys name. Love it to bits. My mum and step dad named their kitten Oscar just last year. If it weren't for that, it'd be so high on my list still.Oskar Matthias
Oskar Nathaniel
Oskar Theodore
Oskar Tobias
Oskar Solomon
Oskar Felix
Oskar Octavian

Hm. I really don't know which one I prefer. Oscar looks nicer at first glance, but it remionds me of Oscar the Grouch and Oskar doesn't.

I do prefer Oscar, but that spelling looks pleasingly obscure to me. I do like it.

I prefer the English Oscar despite the fact that I'm German, lol.

I prefer the spelling Oscar, but there's nothing wrong with Oskar. It's also nice. I know what you mean. I certainly prefer the German spelling of Lukas.

I want to like Oscar, but I can't. It's so cartoonish and reminds me of a spoiled brat. I like the Oskar spelling better, it seems more adventorous.

Oskar is also the Swedish spelling. I kinda like Oscar, with this spelling, because it has a more english feel to it. Oskar however is very, very boring to me. Strange how a little spelling change can make such a huge difference.

That's exactly how I feel about Oscar and Oskar. While Oskar has a boring feel to me, I really like Oscar. I often feel that way with names that are virtually the same name but vary a little in different languages / cultures. I usually only like one of the variants.

I can't stand the name no matter what the spelling. It makes me think of Oscar the Grouch and other bitter things.

I really like the name. I prefer the spelling Oscar, because of its Irish and Scottish associations. It looks gentler to me.
