What do you think of the name Garold? Do you know any other names that are in the same boat as it? (confused with another name, or misspelling)

My uncle is named Gerald (pronounced GARE-uld, so that it rhymes with Harold). His name always gets pronounced JARE-uld, though, and I know at some point he quit correcting people. In fact, most people (his wife included) call him "Gerry". I dunno, whether it's spelled Gerald or Garold, all it really makes me think of is my uncle. I certainly wouldn't use it.
As far as similar names go, I know a Shanley who would always get "Stanley"...which was particularly awkward, since Shanley is a girl.
