In the Kingdom of Caraneth
As a shock to all from Margaret's family, their Kingdom's favourite Princess, was chosen (from a portrait) to marry the new Emporer of their former enemies. It made much more sense for the kingdoms dear Margot, to marry their trading kingdoms eldest son Alexander, aged 45. Margaret however did not see this as a good match and found the mysterious Frederick's offer far more romantic. Having never seen him, she had heard of his reputation as an excellent soldier. Her father agreed to let her wed him, and not Alexander, after she wonderfully argued to him that their two Houses would never feud again. Her father agreed and consented for his dear Margot to meet with the Ambassador to marry the new King.
The new King delighted to see Margaret as beautiful as her picture. He had seen portraits of several Duchesses, Princesses and other noblewomen. He was glad of his choice as he and Margot shared the same sparkling wit. As they prepared for their marvelous wedding, he told her of his own tale, of how his Uncle had died at sea on a voyage, in hopes of settling new farming land for their starving nation. Margaret lamented and promised she would ask her own father if their union could promise a share in land for her new people, as her old Kingdom was far more wealthy. However she could promise little as elder brother was the next heir and bitterly disliked Margaret for her popularity. Frederick beamed and admired her compassion. His whole kingdom celebrated with joy at their new beautiful Empress and raised their glasses to happier days to come, wealth, and plenty of children for the strong and young Margaret and their dashing young King Frederick, whom they knew little of. They had always expected his cousins to take the throne. Frederick promises to exceed their expectations.
