After King Kazimir died after bearing no sons (only daughters), his brother, Kendall, was next in line. Kendall, who had had two sons, Winton and Griffin, had died a few years earlier, leaving elder son Winton was next in line. However, Win was a sailor and had gone on a journey shortly after his father had passed away and had not been heard from since. Leaving Griffin, fourth in line, to the throne.
Griffin was surprised, but quickly stepped up to the challenge. He was already engaged to Princess Eve, one of the younger Princesses from the nearby kingdom Tallo, and shortly after he was crowned, they married.
