Your King/etc. was just crowned after the previous Royal family (with 3 or more children) died. You are the oldest nephew/niece to the King/etc., and therefore you inherit the throne. How did this occur? As is customary, the King/etc. is being pressured to find a spouse. Who do they chose and why?
Before becoming the Malka, Avi was not even the nesicha (equivalent of princess), she was just the favorite niece of Melech Avram.
Avi's mother, the younger sister of the Melech, Nina the Nesicha, died several days after her birth, of complications. Her father, Amit Tal, a lowly trader, died several years later, after being attacked while traveling across foreign lands. Even though he died when she was seven, he hadn't spent much of that time with her, because of his job. Even so, Amit loved Elisheva very much, and Avi loved her father even more, if that was possible. After his death, rather than living in asmall cottage with her father's friend, Micha'el ben Aaron, and his three children (David, who was 13 and her best friend, Eve who was two years younger than her and Omer who was her age), her uncle Melech Avram decided that she ought to come live at the palace with him, his wife Ilana, and their seven children, Yonatan, Ethan, Miriam, Simon, Esther, Raphael, and Little Judith. At the time she had been seven, and her cousins were all older.
Yoni was 17, and the strongest.
Ethan was 16, and the smartest.
Miriam was 14, and the most caring.
Simon was 12, and the silliest.
Esther was 12, and the sweetest.
Raphael was eight, and the friendliest.
Judith was three, and the cutest.
After living with her cousins for so long that they became like her real siblings. Arguing with Ethan and pulling pranks with Simon became her second nature, even after Malka Ilana, passed away giving birth to a stillborn baby girl whom she named Shoshannah.
Avi became very attached to the baby girl. But when winter settled in, the poor baby started getting sick, coughing and wheezing. Little Judith and Simon also got sick, and within a few weeks. The three had perished.
This left Avi very sad and lonely, but Esther was even worse. Even with the begging of Miriam and Rachel, the younger cousin of David and best friend of Esther, she refused to eat and her body slowly began wasting away. She grew so thin and so sickly, that Avram ordered for his own son, Yoni, to go find the best doctor in the land, so that his little girl may be cured. By the time Yoni had returned with the doctor Esther had died. Yoni committed suicide the next day. Doctor Elijah was kept in the palace, to make sure no one else got sick.
Life went on, eventually and Miriam got married, like Ethan had done before her, but when the time came for her first baby to be born, like her mother Ilana, she too died of complications. The baby Rut, was very sickly and born too soon. She died a few weeks after her birth.
Ethan was disowned due to the fact that his wife was from an enemy nation. He was sentenced to public humilation and then the two of then were forced into jail.
After that, Raphael and Avi were all the king had left, and he went crazy. So crazy that his own advisors plotted to assassinate him. Unfortunately for them Raphy found out about their plot and had them arrested and sentenced to death. But what the young man didn't realize, was that the hit was already called. Raphy and Avram were both assassinated
That left poor Avi the Malka. After being ceremoniously crowned, she was forced to choose a husband. Even after a decade of spending all her time inside the stone walls of the castle, with no contact with anyone under the age of forty, she knew exactly who to choose.
David had been her best friend through think and thin, in her childhood, even though her was considerably older. When she thought about him she always smiled.
The ben Aarons were pleasantly surprised when their new Malka and old friend showed up at their door after many years and when her advisor told them her proposal, David happily accepted, with the knowledge that he could now protect her from all that had occurred within the last few years.
They got married two months later. The ceremony was small in private, followed by a public reception.
