[Opinions] Hermia or Hermione?

I like both but I think I'm leaning toward Hermia at the moment.

I think they're both super-ugly and should be left for pets and GPs.

Hermione defI want to like Hermia, but all I think of are hernias and hermaphrodite. Not cool associations. I would go with Hermione, even if she will always get the "like Harry Potter?" associations.

I like Hermia for the Merchant of Venice ref and the unusualness, but there is no denying that it does sound far too much like hernia. Hermione ftw.

This is probably way off topic, but Hermia is in Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream, not Merchant of Venice...Sorry.

HermioneHermione isn't my thing, and while I can appreciate Hermia, I really am not loving its similarity to "hernia"

Definitely HermioneHermia's okay, but because of Harry Potter Hermia could never compare to the awesomeness of Hermione! Plus I think Hermione has a lot of nickname potential that Hermia doesn't: Mia, Maia, and Erma, instead of just Hermy.

Urm...Uh...Heh...Hermione? No! Hermia! No, wait! Hermione! Ack!!! I can't decided, they're both such fantastic Shakespearean names and both characters are pretty neat (not perfect, and maybe not everyone's cup of tea, but I like 'em).I suppose Hermione is more usable and accessible because of the Harry Potter books.

Hermione, definitely. I like the Harry Potter association, and Hermia seems a little short and harsh to me.

HermioneI love long O sounds, and the ending of it also provides a nice feeling of close and I think it's what makes it brown and fuzzy for me, too. Ha.Plus Hermia sounds too close to hernia.

I'm not a fan of either but guess i prefer Hermia, because it doesnt have the strong Harry Potter association

Hermia could always get that unfortunate nickname of Hernia...So I'll say Hermione, which I think is a lovely name, with a nice meaning and lots of interesting namesakes.

I like both but Hermia has been ruined for me ever since someone said it looks like hernia. It's so prettily dorky though.Aw to heck with it I vote Hermia
