Help[Opinions] Iris, Zinnia & Hazel
I don't have many names on my short list that are English (or that I like the sound of with an English accent). Of the girl names I'd feel most inclined to use for an English kid, these are three of the 4 I'd use.
Hypothetically speaking, if you came across 3 sisters named Iris, Zinnia and Hazel, what might your first reactions about their parents be?
a) Trying to be themey and are therefore cheesy (or creative)
b) Gardeners or flower aficionados
c) Just plain attracted to botanical names by coincidence
d) Other
e) No reaction about the parents, only the names themselves
Are Iris, Zinnia and Hazel annoyingly botanical together? In my mind:
Iris is more "old lady"
Zinnia is out-there, and a flower name if you know your flowers
Hazel is more of a colour
so it's not obvious to me, but I'm not sure if I'm the only one.

Creative & just attracted to botanical names by coincidence...
those two options describe me! Iris and Zinnia are on my pnl ... Hazel is really cute, though, and it's growing on me. I worked with a six year old Hazel a few years ago, and it's refreshing to hear. I actually see Hazel as an "old lady" name, but in a good way!
It's not an obvious theme to me, either. Then again, I'm the kind of person who likes Indigo and Willow as a sibset, for example...but Indigo is a color, Willow a tree. It'd be different if you were going for Lily, Rose and Iris, or Hazel, Indigo and Scarlett. I think Iris, Zinnia and Hazel is a pretty awesome set!

Iris is gorgeous! I also like Zinnia, but I've never been able to warm up to Hazel.
When I hear the name Hazel, I tend to think of the color and hazelnuts before I think of the tree. Iris and Zinnia strike me as botanical. If one happened to be a middle name and the other a first name, I think it would be better, but I don't think that it's that big of a deal. Zinnia isn't the most common flower name, so it's not like the sibset is something really obvious like Lily, Rose, and Daisy. I personally would be a little hesitant to use Iris and Zinnia together as first names to avoid making the sibset too theme-y though.

I like the sibset! I'm especially fond of Zinnia.

Hazel is the more old ladyish to me, though Iris is a close second but one I can see beyond the whole old lday thing.
I think it's too themey and cheesy, but like all the names individually. I like the theme compared to some, as a gardener myself and they aren't the run of the mill Lily Rose and Daisy sort of thing.
I like them. Saw Zinnia on my other board recently and think it's a strong lovely name.

I think they make a cute sibset. :) I rather like all of the names.

I wouldn't name three daughters Iris, Zinnia, and Hazel, but don't think it's too bad. If I came across the three sisters I would think it was cute and related to a and b. It reminds me of the sisters on the BBC show Keeping Up Appearances (Hyacinth, Daisy, Rose, and Violet). I like Iris best of the three, but Zinnia is pretty and quirky, I think.
