A little after the birth of Elli, a scandal broke out in the kingdom. Maya's older brother was a promising politician, but as it turns out he had a married mistress. It would have been no big deal, had she not been married. Everyone is ashamed and Maya plans on keeping the story under tight wrapps.

The king sent the best investigators in the land to figure out how the fire happened. Everyone, including the royals, believe that people from neighboring Arries started the fire. Learsi's neighbors had never been friendly and they had done much worse before.
When the babies were born, the doctors informed the family that Mazal had a heart condition.
