So, after watching Up this weekend with my friend and my boyfriend, I was sitting there and watching the credits for the production babies and there was a baby named Beach and after everyone being "omg what, Beach?!", my boyfriend said that if he had a daughter, he would want to name her Dawn.
He said it was partly after his mom, and also partly because "you don't meet many girls named Dawn anymore"
(at that point I said "that's because it's sort of dated")
So yes, I know it's dated, but I think it could grow on me. WDYT? Middle name ideas?

And I explained that I wanted to name my son Ashley [and my friend wants to be his godmother]. Boyfriend said that was cool with him. Yay!

Well, even in "its time", Dawn wasn't way overused as a fn... more often as a mn.

I used to have a best-friend named Dawn, Dawn-Marie actually, she would be about 20 now. Youngest I know of though. I think that although the name is a bit dated, it's still a nice name. Not one I'd use, but I wouldn't mind seeing it at all.

I love the name Dawn and have been thinking about it recently also. It is a beautiful name and I would love to see it come back into fashion.
